Music plays a vital artistic and spiritual role at Bethel UCC. We aspire to be creative in utilizing music in service of a meaningful worship experience. We are fortunate to have an outstanding Baldwin grand piano as well as two first rate pianists who alternate within a flexible schedule.
We enjoy hosting a variety of concerts and musical groups, from folk to pick-up choirs to classical. There is interest in growing our musical offerings both within worship and for the larger Gorge community. |
Art at Bethel Our sanctuary provides a sacred space for worship and contemplation with its dramatic view of 11,000-foot snow-covered Mount Hood rising above the Columbia River and the Hood River Valley.
Sharing our sanctuary are twelve paintings of women whose stories working for social and environmental justice all over the world inspired local artist, Janet Essley, to create these magnificent panels. We often feel the presence of these women, who remind us of the sacredness and unity of life, and we are inspired by their courage to speak truth to power. The front of our property is graced by the Happy Human sculpture by Hood River artist CJ Rench. It reminds us to Catch the Spirit and embodies our inter-generational love of of fun and play.
