Worship at Bethel Church
Catch the Spirit!
Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ is a strong progressive church serving White Salmon, Washington and the Columbia River Gorge. Our Congregational roots support us in seeking our own distinct understanding of the church's mission in the world. We believe that God is still speaking to us - challenging us to new understandings of Christ's teachings and the biblical call to justice and peace. We welcome all who would like to join with us to praise God and to seek to discover God's will for us today.
Bethel seeks to serve the needs of families and individuals of all ages. Our size creates a close, intergenerational fellowship of both new and long-time members.
Worship and music reflect our love of both tradition and diversity. Our music is an extension of our philosophy and faith - a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs.
We are an Open and Affirming church, a church of abundant welcome. We affirm the equality and dignity of every person, welcoming people without regard to sexual orientation, race, gender, age, national origin, ability, marital status or economic status.

11:15 Fellowship time
Immediately following worship.
We miss gathering in person over Fair Trade coffee and healthy (still delicious!) snacks, but for now you're invited to top up your mug of coffee and join us for check-ins after worship!
Currently, we are unable to offer a separate Sunday School time for our youngest people. We believe, however, that welcoming children into ALL of worship is a huge gift for our oldest and youngest members alike.
To that end, ALL worship at Bethel is multigenerational. It is who we are; who we have always been. But on the 4th Sunday of each month we have a special all ages worship format.
How it is different:
The format is simplified. The readings are aimed at engaging young people - playfulness and symbolic action are encouraged.
